Traditionally the International Border Police Conference has been hosted on a yearly basis by Hungary since 1993. With the participation of experts of the highest level the meeting provides for a review upon most important fields of border management in light of the latest international developments. During the annual plenary meeting the specialized working groups of the IBPC (listed below) give an account on their work and findings:

Border Service Heads,

Working group for coast guards,

Cooperation among the border services and other relevant bodies in fight against drug smuggling,

Combating illegal migration,

Visa regime and conditions of entry,

Collecting analytical data,
